How To Cut Off People & Things That Are Toxic In Your Life

Are you exhausted from dealing with toxic people or something toxic in your life? Is there someone or something that makes you feel drained, hopeless and even guilty? 


The good news is that it's Time's Up - it's time to rid yourself of them or that thing that is causing issues in your life and move on. 


We all have that one person or thing in our lives that can throw everything off balance due to toxicity, but it's time to cut them or it off and reclaim your power. 


It doesn’t matter if it's a friend, family member or colleague, significant other, an experience or situation, or thing etc.

This blog post will show you how to spot the signs of a toxic person and to take the necessary steps to reduce the impact of a toxic person and even help you build healthier relationships.

So, if you're ready to draw the line and let go of the toxicity in your life, the Cut Off Season is officially here.


Keep in mind, when it comes to how to cut off people or toxic situations in your life, it is important to use your discernment and understand what season you're in and when it's time to cut someone or something off as well as identify when someone or something has served its purpose.

Know When It's Time To Let Go

Knowing when to let go and cut off people and things that are toxic is key. Are there signs that are showing you that it is time to cut someone or something off? 


Paying attention to the signs or the red flag is key, especially in relationships. 


When it comes to paying attention to the signs, it is important to understand how you feel. How we feel about something or someone is sometimes our best guide of course, only if you are considered to be an emotionally healthy person. 


For example, when it comes to happiness, the ultimate goal is to follow your heart and seek what makes you genuinely and ethically happy.


Does your energy feel off when you are around the wrong people or find yourself in the wrong situations or experiencing something negative?


Our intuition is always nudging at us when something is not right. It is so important to pay attention to your intuition which is why having discernment is key.


In order to develop a strong level of discernment, it starts with a strong spiritual connection with God where he directs your path.


A lot of times we tend to ignore the signs and reason with ourselves to do things in cases when we know it is not right.

If this happens, pay attention to the red flags and how you feel.


What are you resisting or worrying about? What are you complaining about? What makes you feel uncomfortable? What causes unease and stress in your life?


These are all important questions to consider to help you determine if it is time to let someone or something go.

Has That Person, Place, Or Thing Served Its Purpose?

Whatever it is that you are considering cutting off, is it someone or something that you can live without?


Answering this question can lead to a pivotal point in your life and this is why using your discernment is key.


Is this person, place, or thing a requirement for your future?


Keep in mind that everything and everyone serves a purpose in your life no matter if it is meant to be a learning lesson or if someone or something is meant to be in your life for a lifetime.


Not everyone and every experience in your present life is meant to carry on into every phase or season in your life so keep this in my mind.


Think of the experiences with the people, places, things, and situations in your past that are no longer present in your life today.


What did you learn from them that is helpful today, good or bad? What are your takeaways?


For example, if it was a job that you worked years ago that you hated but you are in a better one now, how did that experience move you into the direction that you are in now? Maybe the bad experience is what created motivation for a better situation. 


The point is to weigh out the pros and cons in your current situation and use your past experiences to help you understand the value of decisions you made in the past to cut off something or someone that could have worked out for you or not.


Reflect on the people and the stages in your life and the purpose that they served in the past and how those experiences unfolded to where you are today and how it played a role in your life story.


Have gratitude for the things that have served the purpose in your life good or bad and use your discernment to determine what option will work best for you in the future considering your past

What Do You Want?

If you are trying to consider when to cut off toxic people, things, or experiences in your life, then it is important to really determine what it is that you really want.


Is that person, place, thing, or experience in alignment to what you truly want?


What exactly is holding you back from what you want and what are you holding on to that's blocking you into going into a new phase in your life?

These are important questions to consider and journal about on a regular basis.

Is Your Energy Getting Drained?

A lot of times it is imperative to cut off a toxic person or thing etc.; that may make you feel energetically drained. 


When you understand energy from a spiritual perspective, you are able to spiritually discern who and what needs to be included in your cut off season.


Energy is a real thing and if you are considered to be an empath, then you are sensitive to other people’s energy.


When you are dealing with a person that you are considering cutting off, ask yourself, is the energy exchange equal? Is the energy that you are contributing to the relationship, thing, or situation reciprocated?


If you are investing all of your time and energy into someone or something and you are not receiving anything equal in return, not today or even in the future, then this may be a time

to include it in your cut off season.


Keep in mind if you find yourself feeling depleted and burned out every time you are around this person(s), environment, or experience, then pay attention to that because you have to be aware of your energy and how you feel on that level like a gas gauge. When you feel depleted after analyzing and using your discernment, then it is time to cut it off.


When your energy is off and you feel depleted, it could be because you are in the presence of an energy vampire which is a real thing.


If it is someone or something that is draining your energy not necessarily physically speaking but spiritually speaking, this is not healthy for you. When you feel this way, it may make your feel unmotivated and physically too tired to do anything.


If you find yourself leaving that situation that drains your energy, you may find yourself feeling happier, motivated, and more energetic than ever.


This is why it is important to stay away from energy vampires spiritually speaking. Your energy or how you feel are common indicators to let you know if that person or situation is in vibration with you. This is why it is important to pay attention to your intuition or the Holy Spirit within.

On the flip side, when you're in a positive space, you feel energetic and that's because you may be operating in your purpose for example or you just simply enjoy what you're doing.

This can also be an indication that you're around positive people that make you feel good. Being around positive people that reciprocate the same type of energy are the same type of people that are on the same energetic level as you etc.

Be Intentional With Creating Your Life

Cut off season can be many things and is not limited to cutting off people, but it can be in relation to the very thing(s) that is causing chaos in your life. This could be in relation to negative experiences that may be associated with your job or career, bad habits, debt, and even clutter etc.


For example, if it is time to cut off bad habits associated with health, what can you do to improve your diet? Is there a health regimen that you can implement into your daily life?


Another example is if you are not happy where you are physically located currently. Have you considered relocating? 


These are just a few examples to consider when it comes to the cut off season in addition to the people in your life.


Considering a personal transformation in your personal life many times may require a cut off season in your life for a fresh new start.

Cut Off Season Can Be Seasonal

Cutting off people, places, things, or situations in your life may not be necessarily permanent but can also be considered seasonal as well. 


For example, is there a goal that you are trying to reach but what you are considering cutting off may be causing distractions in your life? 


Maybe you are in a stage in your life of transformation, healing, or personal development etc. These can be reasons why you may need to focus on yourself as a form of self care in a given season in your life.


This can be very common in relationships which can tend to be very distracting when trying to reach a goal or can be challenging when you are dealing with personal issues where personal growth and development is required.


So consider the things in your life that you may not have to cut off permanently but for only a season and create a plan to isolate temporarily in the process to reach your goal(s).

Time's Up: The Cut Off Season is Here.

By setting boundaries, saying no, and standing firm in your commitments, you can ensure that your time and energy are used in the most constructive ways possible. 


The message is clear: it’s time to say goodbye to the toxicity and hello to a brighter and healthier you. Choose wisely who and what is worth your investment and who and what is not, and don't forget to take some time for yourself, too. It's time to live a life of contentment and joy, free from toxicity.

All of these things mentioned in this blog post are important factors to overall consider when it comes to cut off season in your life.


Overall, once you have used your discernment and determined who and what needs to be included in your cut off season, it's time to bid farewell to those things or people who bring you down, waste your time, and hold you back from being your best self.
